Abstract:
"A starting point for examining focus group participants’ perceptions of women as political leaders is an overview of participants’ primary concerns related to Kuwaiti politics and governance.
Throughout the research, participants consistently voiced anxiety over issues related to housing, healthcare, education, citizenship laws, the economic development of Kuwait and rampant
corruption. While participants in aggregate mutually expressed concern about and proclaimed the
need for government action on the above mentioned areas, on a least some level, female participants mostly called for reforms in the areas of entitlements to citizenship, education, family and marital matters, while male participants focused on issues regarding corruption, the lack of governmental transparency, and national security."
