Education in the Republic of Yemen: The National Report

The National Report for the Development of education in Yemen was presented at the 48th session of International Conference on Education, in Geneva. Yemen was able mobilize its national efforts as much as help from friendly countries and achieve thus a big progress in enrolling children in Basic Education. The new approach of Yemen regarding education is related with the general frame of the scenario which Yemen lives in since the re-unification of Yemen in May 1990.Within this scenario Yemen has met economic, financial, cultural and political development based on democracy. Supporting these changes Yemen’s government tries to reinforce the education system through specific policies and strategies in all the levels in order to achieve until 2025 sustainable development.
