Qatar water consumption among the highest in the world

Abstract:
Tariffs for electricity and water were raised in the country in the middle of 2016, but while the producers of the precious utilities got more money for electricity in 2015, for water that was not the case. Rates have been increased based on usage. After a certain amount of use of both power and water, the charges go up. But despite the rate hike, both utilities remain highly subsidized by the state and remain free for nationals.
