National e-Strategies for Development: Global Status and Perspectives 2010

Abstract: 
Update and overview of the progress on developing "e-strategies, ICT strategies, and sectoral e-strategies". National e-strategies and ICT strategies will bridge the gap between people with and without access to ICT technologies. Also, integrate ICTs into poverty reduction strategies. Shows areas for improvement such as ICT strategies lacking a "strategic" approach, lack of long term direction of the plans, not enough sectoral e-strategies, existing sectoral e-strategies should support national e-strategies and e-strategies and ICT should act as a bridge between sectors. 161 countries have met the WSIS goal e-strategies.
