Abstract:
The Millenium Development Goals (MDG) are goals governments and the United Nations developed to encourage growth and support of countries to escape poverty and other factors preventing forward development. However, some of the nations are not on track for meeting the MDGs by 2015. The current decentralized international system requires revamping in order to increase coherence. To reach the MDGs, offical development assistance (ODA) by developed nations to less developed countries (LDCs) must increase. Market access (trade) must be encouraged in a way that protects LDCs from marginalization. Debt sutainability for highly indebted countries by improving countries' debt management is crutial. Finally access to affordable essential medication and new technology allow LDCs to keep up with developed countries.
