Cyber crime can be committed anonymously and with great speed from all over the globe, thus, INTERPOL must develop ways to protect people and information infrastructures from such threats. INTERPOL's roles include facilitating information sharing between member states, training and education, having 24/7 cyber crime officers available to assist in the event of a cyber attack, work with private and investigative agencies to prosecute and prevent attacks, identify threats and create a "secure web portal for accessing operational information and documents".
