Abstract:
This report examines the key sustainability challenges faced by African countries notably ensuring inclusive growth and poverty eradication, promoting food security, enhancing job creation and mitigating resource scarcities and environmental risks.This study advocates African countries to transform themselves into green economies and illustrates the main goals and advantages of a green economy for the prosperity of Africa as well as the difficulties in the transition to the green economy model. A number of concise case studies are presented to assess the scope of the green economy model in Africa and its benefits for various industries.
