An Economic Analysis of the Private and Social Costs of the Provision of Cybersecurity and Other Public Security Goods

Abstract: 
Examines the incentives of private actors in cybersecurity. The public good of cyber-security can lead to an underproduction of security expenditures and the incentive to free-ride. The increase in production of cyber-security goods and protection of information must be facilitated by collective organizations.
