Department of Defense Cyberspace Policy Report: A Report to Congress Pursuant to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011, Section 943

Abstract:
Department of Defense (DoD) report describes the U.S. Secretary of Defense's stance on addressing today's cybersecurity risks, which are challenging US legitimacy in cyberspace. The legal policy contentions concerning this field are recognized, however, it is clear that the DoD views its offensive/defensive cyber arm as an extension of legal policy directed by the Executive Branch. The current use of cyber-modeling and simulation for both offensive and defensive operational purposes is explained and also provides insight into the application and integration of cybersecurity in military strategy efforts.
