"The population size of the UAE increased from approximately 1.0 million in 1980 to 7.5 million in 2010. It is expected that the population will keep on increasing to reach approximately 12.2 million in 2050.The growth rate of the population in UAE dropped from 5.67 percent for the period 1980‐1985 to 5.12 percent for the period 1995‐2000, and then increased to 5.88 percent in the period 2000‐2015 and 12.26."
