A Decent Life for All: Ending poverty and giving the world a sustainable future

Abstract: 
A public statement addressing the efficacy of the 2015 Millennium Development Goals and their successors, the Sustainable Development Goals, as a result of the Rio+20 Conference in 2012. The statement highlights "the need for poverty eradication" as well as the need for sustainable development in order to "ensure prosperity for current and future generations." The statement proposes steps to reaching these goals, including further EU involvement in United Nations endeavors, raising of public awareness surrounding issues in poverty and sustainable development, and "implementing Rio+20 commitments through a range of overarching policies."
