Cyberspace Policy Review: Assuring a Trusted and Resilient Information and Communications Infrastructure

Abstract:
Examines current U.S. cybersecurity policy on conducting cybersecurity operations and offers a near-term action plan and mid-term action plan for actualizing these provisional recommendations. Outlines deterrence measures such as increasing funding for emergency preparedness cyber units, and promoting oversight continuity and information sharing across the intelligence community (IC). Additionally, methods for bolstering existing defense systems from adversarial attacks, and ensuring quality information assurance for the federal government within this strategic sphere of influence is addressed. The concept of supply chain security is advanced to help fill identified infrastructural gaps and ensure the integrity of critical infrastructure and timely responsiveness of repair service providers.
