China's Shifting Policies towards Sustainability: a low-carbon economy and environmental protection.

Abstract: 
As the world’s largest and most populous developing country with a fast growing economic growth rate, its main focuses have mostly been on industrialization and urbanization. However, the Chinese government has acknowledged the potential damages that the developments have done to severe the environmental problems related to climate change as well as cause widespread environmental deterioration. The article focuses on the evolution of sustainability policies in China includings its increasingly environmentally friendly development model and 12 year-plans. This transformation has implications for the introduction of better policies for achieving low-carbon economic growth in China and allowing the right balance between economic prosperity, quality of life, social justice and environmental protection.
