VALOPES

This is a consulting service created by two young entrepreneurs from Colombia and Chile in order to carry out the recovery of certain types of waste. A statement on their website reads, "at VALOPES we help the industry find value in waste, disused materials, equipment, and under-used machinery. For us, waste is a potential resource that can be used sustainably." It is a stimulating initiative, not only because of its structured philosophy, because it serves as a stimulus for new ideas among young university graduates, especially in Latin America. Octavio Torres, one of its founders, is an engineer who studied at MIT.
