Abstract:
This article models the growing trend of urbanization in China and its effect on the utilization of energy and mineral resources. Urbanization brought about by increasing modernization heavily affects the fragile supply and demand structure of natural resources. The article also examines its effect on China's GDP that urbanization brings. The paper then concludes that that rapid rate of urbanization that China is projected to undergo until the year 2050 will precipitate a shortage of many natural resources vital to China's sustainability.
