The Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technologies (SIMTech), A*STAR has spearheaded the Sustainable Manufacturing Centre (SMC) to develop and promote development of sustainable technologies in the manufacturing industry. Our Mission To develop and implement innovative technologies that minimise emissions, wastes and toxicity in manufacturing, and strengthen the global competitiveness of Singapore’s manufacturing industry. We aim to help industry via our 3R strategy: - Re-engineer their manufacturing process to reduce waste and increasing productivity - Re-vive costly waste materials into profitable raw materials that can be sold or used - Re-think the way we use resources to achieve environmental friendliness without reducing product quality.
