The Rotterdam Convention

The Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Procedure Convention controls the trading of hazardous substances by placing control of what is imported into the hands on the importing country. The Convention lists chemicals deemed hazardous, which are used both in industry and in agriculture, and describes a proper procedure of communication between the importing and exporting country.
