Research Center for Renewable Energy Mapping Assessment (ReCREMA) Advances UAE’s Renewable Energy and Environmental Monitoring Goals through Satellite Remote Sensing

Recent accomplishments of the Research Center for Renewable Energy Mapping and Assessment (ReCREMA) are highlighted in this web article. The accomplishments include: (1) UAE Solar Technology Simulator - a web-based GIS application used to model and simulate utility-scale solar PV plants in the UAE; (2) Bioenergy Simulator, which is capable of determining the electricity generation potential for various types of biomass; (3) UAE Solar PV Zoning Analysis Project – a tool for the economical assessment of potential solar PV power plants in UAE; and (4) StratobusTM – a tool currently being developed to monitor coastal water and atmospheric pollutant levels in the UAE.
