NATO Briefing: Tackling New Security Challenges

Abstract: 
This briefing summarizes past progress and future plans regarding new security challenges, which include terrorism, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, cyber security, the threat of missile attack, energy security, and piracy. Since the major cyber attacks against Estonia's public services in 2007, NATO focused on enhancing the security of the individual Allied nations' communication and information systems and continues to play a major role in responding to security incidents within the Alliance.
