Internet Society (ISOC) 2009 Annual Review: Members, Partners, and Community

Abstract: 
The Organization Members comprise mostly of product providers, research organizations, businesses, NGOs, and educational institutions that together form an active community working to "advance the security, stability, and overall health of the Internet."‌ The society undertakes numerous fundraising and sponsorship initiatives to provide resources for the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The Society has a Platinum Programme, which is an opportunity for businesses and individuals to directly support its projects. The Society's membership also consists of over 40,000 individual voluntary members and donors, 88 active Chapters, and the Board of Trustees. This section of the report also offers a brief graphic representation of the "Internet Ecosystem,"‌ which is based on global ownership and free access.
