Insider Threat Study: Illicit Cyber Activity in the Banking and Finance Sector

Abstract:
As insider threats and incidents increase, the financial and banking sector must be aware of the challenges they face. Insider threats are committed by people given the authority to access information systems. They use their ability to gain access to steal information and cause signifigant problems. Insider threats are particularly threatening because they can bypass security (physical and electronic) by legitimate means. Organizations do not always report insider threats. Report discusses a study of Insider Threat Study (ITS) and the findings and implications for the financial sector.
