Cyber Warfare: An Analysis of the Means and Motivations of Selected Nation States

Abstract:
Assesses the means, opportunities, and motivations of state actors to engage in acts of cyber war against other nations. Recognizes that information technology is not flawless and is constantly changing to adjust to the face of new consumer demands and external threats. Uses historical case studies from China, India, Iran, Russia, Pakistan, and North Korea to explore commonalities in global cyber attacks and assess major areas of network vulnerabilities. Recognizes that non-state actors, or hackers, have made their foray into this realm and present an equal security threat to IT systems.
