China Energy Technology Program (CETP)

The objective of this project is to develop a global methodology for analyzing the "true"‌ cost of electricity, taking energy technologies and their environmental impact into account. China was chosen as the country for this study because it is the most populous country in the world and the most important developing country in Asia. The scope of the project will be limited to one province in China, but the methodology is transferable to other developing or developed countries and regions. The main goal of this research effort is to assist the overall decision-making process through identification of innovative technologies and policies. Portfolios of energy options and policy initiatives will be examined over two decades.
