Architect warns of Oman sustainability challenges

The article discuss about the challenges faced by growth of sustainable and eco-friendly architecture in Oman as suggested by some architects which includes non-existence of many construction industries, Travel distances for imported goods, lack of basic infrastructure and high costs. The article also says that there are other architects who “think sustainability is catching on” in Oman and quotes them on the facts such as the need for environmental impact assessment study carried before any projects in Oman, use of local materials as much as possible for the projects, use of environmentally friendly materials, education of client on sustainability practises and their positive responsiveness.
