World Food Summit

World leaders assembled in Rome in November 1996 for the World Food Summit aimed at renewing global commitment to the fight against hunger. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) called the Summit in response to widespread undernutrition and growing concern about the capacity of agriculture to meet future food needs. Contains an agenda, documentation, plan of action and other information from the FAO sponsored summit that addressed issues of malnutrition, hunger, and food security.
