Users as essential contributors to spatial cyberinfrastructures

Abstract:
Responding to the National Science Foundation's Atkins Report, examines the importance of non-professional users in the development of spatial cyberinfrastructure (CI) projects. Emphasizes that a focus on ordinary citizens as contributors should be "paramount"‌ because they have the largest stake in many of the issues that Spatial CIs analyze "such as climate change, global pandemics, hazard forecasting, and water availability."‌
