A Look at the Qatar Sustainability Expo - More than Green-Washing

Abstract:
The website blog covers the main sustainability issues facing Qatar during the Expo. Sustainability for Qatar is declared a necessity with 50% of water resources and usage, 75% of poultry, and nearly a 100% of legumes and cereal grains being imported. A diversification of economy is also implored with 60% of Qatar’s GDP based on finite resources such as fossil fuels, and Qatar having the highest GDP per capita in the world. Several programs have been launched to address the water, food security and economic issues such as the Qatar National Food Security Programme and the Education City to bring the best of educational opportunity to the country.
