First WTO Ministerial Conference in Singapore

The first WTO Ministerial Conference was held on 9-13 December 1996 in Singapore. At the close of the conference, the Ministers adopted the Singapore Ministerial Declaration, which reaffirms WTO member support of the multilateral trading system and sets out the WTO work programme for the next few years; and adopted a Comprehensive and Integrated WTO Plan of Action for the Least-Developed Countries.
