Cool Japan, Creative Industries Policy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) promotes overseas advancement of ”Cool Japan” initiative in order to cultivate creative industries, promote the culture industries in Japan and abroad, and achieve economic growth. The initiative is based on the Proposal by the Cool Japan Advisory Council in 2011. Overseas expansion strategies with public and private sectors: “(1) apparel and fashion, (2) monodzukuri and regional products, (3) food, (4) content, (5) tourism and (6) home.”
