WSIS Forum 2011

A forum expanding upon the WSIS Geneva and Tunis Summits and the annual WSIS May meetings held from May 16-20, 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland. More than 1150 WSIS stakeholders from over 140 countries representing UN agencies, regional commissions, the private and public sectors, and civil society gathered to assess progress towards WSIS implementation and future plans to reach goals stated in the WSIS Outcome documents by 2015. The WSIS is a joint effort by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD, and UNDP to address the future of Internet governance and universal access to information and communication technologies (ICTs).
