World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) - Final Report of the Geneva Phase of the Summit

Abstract: 
This report states the Declaration of Principles of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) for building an information society for all in the new millennium, organizes the delegation of responsibilities among the attendees of the summit, summarizes round table debates, addresses the adoption of various summit documents, and takes preparatory steps for the second phase of the summit at Tunis. Its key principles include harnessing the power of information and communication technology to ensure environmental sustainability, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases, achieve universal primary education, and promote gender equality, among other things.
