ITU Corporate Annual Report 2009

This report states that the ITU succeeded in bringing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) issues to the top of the global agenda. It summarizes progress made at various ITU events such as the World Telecommunication Policy Forum (WTPF) and reviews developments made through ITU initiatives including the Child Online Protection (COP) initiative. This report assesses the responsibilities of the ITU Council, the effects of the global financial crisis on ITU progress and developments made in area issues including cybersecurity, climate change and emergency communications. Furthermore, it reviews the ongoing responsibilities of and developments made in the three sectors of the ITU: development, radiocommunication, and telecommunication standardization.
