Cybersecurity and US Legislative Efforts to address Cybercrime

Abstract:
This article goes into cybersecurity deficiencies and how, as the authors argue, these deficiencies are "the greatest national security threat facing the US in the 21st century". It is discussed how both private and public organizations are 'vulnerable' as well as even individuals. Beyond that direct risk, our national infrastructures connected to cyberspace indirectly are also put at risk. The solution to this task is two-fold, first, our government needs to make sure that the laws not only are sufficient, but adequate to protect against as well as deter incoming cyberattacks. Second, those involved with ensuring security of cyberspace have a very critical job to do in securing cyberspace.
