Cybersecurity Gets Smart

Abstract:
This article is about applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve cybersecurity by better detecting cyber threats. Using machine learning is better than the traditional threat detection schemes because deep learning takes advantage of better pattern matching and can continuously adapt to new threats. Machine learning techniques can analyze files and code in real time and continuously adapt its threat detection algorithms. Much of new malware consists of previously known malware that is changed slightly to avoid being detected by traditional cybersecurity tools. Machine learning can adapt to these small changes in malware and more easily detect them. Key words: artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, cybersecurity, big data, pattern matching and mapping, cognitive computing, adaptability, user behavior, repair, autonomous, and self-adaptive.
