A Council for Sustainable Development: A possible outcome for the Rio+20 Process

Proposes the establishment of a permanent council on sustainable development as a result of the Rio plus 20 (Rio +20) conference. The purpose of this council will be to submit proposals for "mandate, modalities and work-programmes" and give the council the authority it requires to operate successfully and effectively. The committee should be comprised of representatives from all stakeholders, including governments, intergovernmental agencies, major groups and academia.
