China, Russia Biggest Cyber Offenders

Abstract:
This past year in 2018, the level of cyberattacks was alarmingly high on the United States. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a think tank in Washington, conducted a report analyzing attack frequency data and attribution information available. This organization attributes a large majority of attacks on the United States back to China and Russia from 2006 to the present. Every year almost a hundred attacks are made, each resulting in millions of dollars or damages to the government and independent businesses. In extended analysis, this article also discusses the attacks on numerous other countries throughout the world. While complete data is not publically available, many attacks have also been attributed to China and Russia. After these two superpowers, Iran, North Korea and India have been respectively the next biggest threats in terms of frequency and effect of cyber attacks.
