The Ancient History of Bitcoin

Abstract:
The article, as the title suggests, briefly discusses the history of currencies. It begins using an analogy. With this analogy in mind, the author moves onto talk about the government and policymakers understanding of cryptocurrencies. He explains that cryptocurrencies, just like dollars or every other form of physical monetary transaction, are just an accounting system. The author tries to reason his perspective by including cryptocurrency skeptics' opinions, allowing the reader to come to his or her own conclusion. Within this framework, the author discusses the control of money compared to the unregulated and decentralized framework that exists for cryptocurrencies. The author moves on to differentiate cryptocurrencies from money - making cryptocurrency seem more like a business venture. Finally, he ends by talking about the value of integrating cryptocurrency into legislation. Key Words: Cryptocurrency, Government, Policies, Blockchain, Bitcoin
