The World in 2010: ICT Facts and Figures

Abstract: 
Statistics show that 90% of the world population now have access to mobile networks, people in both developed and developing countries are rapidly moving from 2G to 3G platforms with some countries already moving onto 4G, the number of sent SMS messages tripled globally between 2007 and 2010, the number of Internet users doubled between 2005 and 2010, connections to the Internet and TV in homes has increased, the number of fixed broadband subscriptions has increased in both developed and developing countries while a large discrepancy still exists, and broadband speed and affordability have improved.
