OSCE Annual Report 2011

Abstract: 
In light of the Arab Spring of 2011, provides an overview of the OSCE’s activities towards realizing a co-operative and indivisible security community in the Eurasian region in the areas of conflicts, media freedom, non-discrimination, border control, transport, energy, and cyber security. Reviews events that took place in the politico-military, economic, environmental, and human dimensions, including the Forum for Security Co-Operation and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Provides updates on field operations in South-Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia. Also monitors the work of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the High Commissioner on National Minorities, and the Representative on Freedom of the Media, as well as the Secretariat. Reviews partnerships with the Asian and Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation and other international institutions. Annexes provide statistics and budgetary information.
