Mass Media in the Middle East: Patterns of Political & Social Change

Abstract: 
Argues that the effect of foreign media on all mediums is overstated, in actuality quite ineffective in capturing, more than the margin upper middle classes who can understand and relate to the content. Dismisses the power of the Internet given the prohibitive cost of Cyber Cafes for most Arabs, and its use primarily for entertainment and social networking.
