Law and Borders: The Rise of Law in Cyberspace

Abstract:
The newly formed virtual worlds do not follow boundaries made based on geography. There is not necessarily a connection between the location of the Internet address and physical jurisdiction, which makes enforcing laws difficult. New rules and phenomena are occurring and law is lacking parallels and precedents in the non-virtual world. New rules and regulations are required to fix the challenges faced by law and cyberspace. Clear boundaries allow laws to work effectively, however, because cyberspace does not have clear borders, new laws must address issues not confined by physical borders.
