Brute Force Attacks Conducted by Cyber Actors

Cybercriminals have gotten better at brute-force techniques. Exploiting unsecure methods such as lack of multi-factor authentication, the technique of password spraying has subverted traditional methods of deterring brute-force methods. By attacking low-security targets, this technique has made it difficult to do any recovery or tracing of the attackers and thus prosecution. Meanwhile, many institutions have been slow to respond to this threat; some are still highly insecure and vulnerable. Key Words: Cyber Actor, Cyberattack
