Slimy Green Beaches May Be Florida's New Normal

Abstract:
Algal blooms have severe impacts on human health, aquatic ecosystems and the economy of coastal towns. Algal blooms in Florida this year have spread through estuaries on both coasts and caused a state of emergency in four counties. This is likely to keep occurring due to climate change and political inaction.
